Is it Cheese? - Paneer Cheese

SCIENCE! - Is it cheese?

We recently did an experiment where we mixed milk and lemon juice together and watched it turn into curds and whey.
During the making process room 10 had a lot of predictions about what we might be making, with only a few guessing correctly that we were making cheese!!

Questions we would like to find out:

- Can the milk curdle by itself?
- How long does it take milk to expire and curdle?
- Does the milk need heat to curdle?
- Does all cheese need acidity to curdle?
- Was it curd or cheese first?

Big Ball Skills!

Here is a sneak peak of our project energise session with Jono. We are practising our big ball skills!

Inquiry Questions

This term we are exploring everything to do with water!
Room 10 has come up with their own questions about water, particularly focusing on how we can make a difference to the water cycle in whatever area we choose.
Our aim is to develop a social action and see what kind of difference we can make!

ANZAC Day

First week back at school! Our focus for the week was Anzac Day. Room 10 produced some amazing work around the topic in many different curriculum areas, but we finished the week off creating these amazing pieces of artwork. Silhouettes of how Room 10 perceives Anzac Day.

Picasso Portraits

At the beginning of term 1 Room 10 explored the amazing Pablo Picasso and his unique way of painting portraits of himself and other people.
He used vibrant colours, odd shapes and sizes, and warped facial features!
It was our mission to manipulate this and create a portrait that may not look like us, but gave us a chance to explore the different and unique techniques of Pablo Picasso. These pictures above are of the making process and just some of the amazing finished products!!

How I Know I'm Home - by Room 10

We have been discussing what it's like for each of us, when we get home at the end of the day.

We all live in different places and have different experiences about being at home. We know that some of us come home to busy houses but some of us come home to peace and quiet. Some of us come home to cooking smells and some of us don't.

Below is our writing about what it's like for us when we get home.

Please enjoy our writing and leave us a comment!

Statistical Investigations

Room 10 has been working hard on their statistical investigations! As a class and individually we have collected data as evidence to tell a story about a question of interest.
We looked at how to display the data in an appropriate format, make statements about implications, and draw conclusions on the basis of our statistical investigation.

Tree Hut Treaty

Room 10 Tree Hut Treaty!

To time with Waitangi day in New Zealand and the beginning of the new year we shared the story of "The Tree Hut Treaty" which developed some thinking around our own class treaty!

During the making we thought of a place that we share regularly with others. We learnt that these shared spaces have rules that directly relate to the wellbeing, safety and happiness of everyone who enters. We came up with ideas that we thought would work best in our shared space and signed our Treaty to show our commitment.
