Our Portraits - a work in progress

The students that have been at school on Friday last week and Monday this week started painting their actual portraits based around the work of Darcy Nicolas.  The drawings at the bottom of these paintings are the plans we have been working on.  I think they are going to be spectacular!

Our Art Focus for Term 1

As part of our Turangawaewae unit students create a portrait of themselves.  This year we are basing our portraits on an amazing New Zealand Artist called Darcy Nicholas.  I put together a presentation for the students to show them what Darcy's portraits look like.  The class has been working hard on planning our portraits so that they re-create his style.  Now it is time to start putting paint on the paper.

If you would like to take a look at the presentation we have been looking at please click here.
