We have been learning about different types of volcanoes. One type - the Caldera volcano - is formed when the volcano erupts and falls in on itself. This is how Lake Taupo was formed. Often Caldera volcanoes have lakes in them. We used a blew up a balloon and buried it in the long jump pit to see if we could re-create how a Caldera volcano is formed.
