The Day the Bee-Bots Came to Visit
We borrowed the Bee-Bots from Kowhai Team so that we could have a go at coding them. We had to work collaboratively in our groups, deciding where we wanted the Bee-Bots to go, recording this and then inputting this into the Bee-Bots. When we pushed go we were able to see the output - the Bee-Bots following our directions. We all worked really well together, with everyone have a different role to play so that we were successful.

NZ History - what we discovered about Waikato's History
Early this term we went to visit the Waikato Museum to see the Shaping Hamilton Huringa Kirikiriroa Exhibition. We also went to visit Seeley's Gully. The question we wanted to answer was:
This is Thomas's explanation of why the Pa is no longer there:
The Māori King Tāwhiao said, "If you cross this river (Mangatawhiri) there will be war."
General Duncan Cameron led his soldiers across the river and the war begun. Battles took place at Rangiriri, Orako, Ngāruawāhia and many other places. Pakeha confiscated massive amounts of land. They raided Pa, confiscated Pa and burnt Pa.
But the big reason Pakeha started the war was because there was a Māori King and Pakeha saw this as a major threat. The British gave the land they confiscated to the soldiers. The soldiers moved onto that land while the Māori were driven out. Some Māori fought alongside the British because they thought if they did they would be able to keep their land but they didn't.
The Pa in Seeleys Gully was either burnt, confiscated, or raided but I think it got destroyed by the Pākeha after they drove the Māori out.
