Day 4 Thursday 26 August - Home Learning

Today's Unplugged Challenge is:  Create a dinosaur out of an empty cardboard box using only triangles

Dinosaur created by Leighton

Dinosaur created by Lee

Dinosaur created by Jarvis

Spiky the Dinosaur created by Emily

Carrot the Rabbit created by Emily

Trianglasaurus created by Stella

T-Rex exploring the garden created by Thomas

A Horned Dinosaur that eats meat created by Jared.  He says its head is red because it is covered in blood!

WATCH:  ArtJohn make a simple dinosaur sculpture from a cereal box!

DO:  Find a cardboard box, a ruler (or something straight you can use as a ruler), a pencil and a pair of scissors. Follow the steps on the video to make your own dinosaur sculpture. It needs to be able to stand by itself (using some of the triangles).

When it is finished take a photo and email it to me at cmaunsell@hameast.school.nz.

YOUR NEXT MISSION:  When you are finished making your dinosaur, is there another animal you could create using only one shape?  What about a teddy bear using only circles?

First thing this morning, I would like to a big shout out to everyone who has been having a go at our Daily Unplugged Challenges. It's great to see what you have come up with. I would also like to share with you photos sent to me from Toby's household. Toby and Finn have been very busy creating with their lego. Here is what they have made:

I would also like to share what our lovely Learning Assistant Kathie has been up to. Kathie has made a movie which is called Aussie Adventures 1. As the title suggests, there may be more to come.

Here's Kathie's Movie;
